Job Description:
Under the direction of the Principal, the Assistant Principal of Curriculum and Instruction serves as an educational leader of the school. The AP of Curriculum and Instruction will supervise and promote the professional development of faculty and academic staff personnel. Organizes and implements the professional development program. Ensures integration of technology into instruction, curriculum programs, and academic progress. Facilitates the work of the Professional Learning Community to provide data driven curriculum and instruction.

Athletic Trainer

Garces Memorial High School is seeking a dedicated individual to provide athletic trainer coverage for our high school athletic programs.

Requirements:
Graduate from an accredited professional athletic training program with a bachelor’s degree (master’s highly recommended) and passed the comprehensive administered test by the Board of Certification. Maintain current certification and continued education requirements set forth by the National Athletic Trainer’s Association Board of Certification. Maintain current certification in CPR/Emergency /Cardiac Care and proof of your BOC card.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
The athletic trainer is responsible for the operations of the Garces Memorial athletic teams. The athletic trainer’s duties, enumerated in this document, should not be considered all inclusive. The Athletic Director, as necessary, shall modify duties. The athletic trainer will be present at home athletic contests and practices and shall attend other post-season and home-hosted contests as directed by the Athletic Director.

  Establish an effective athletic training program for high school athletes.
  Provide first aid and injury assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and reconditioning for student athletes. The athletic trainer will also be responsible for making appropriate physician referrals.
  Provide coverage at home events and practices from the beginning of the fall sports season to the conclusion of the spring season.
  Coordinate the annual required athletic physicals/clearance packets and supervise the clearance of injured athletes prior to and during the sport season.
  Maintain a line of communication with the team physician regarding health care and recommended treatment/rehabilitation for all athletic injuries.
  Assist coaching staff in evaluating and implementing sport specific conditioning programs and methods.
  Maintain an effective and efficient athletic training room.
  File all necessary paperwork associated with athletic injuries and or incident.
  Maintain a daily treatment log.
  Oversee ordering of supplies and equipment pertaining to the athletic training room and maintain an up-to-date inventory. Provide the Athletic Director with an annual budget for supplies and equipment.
  Equip each team with appropriate medical equipment.
  Assist in the selection and fitting of protective equipment, including special taping, pads or braces.
  Create a safe playing environment by monitoring and controlling environmental risks.

The athletic trainer will work in accordance with the weekly athletic schedule to be determined by the Athletic Director. Weekly schedules will be based upon the season of sport.

Reports to: Athletic Director
Terms of Employment
: 12-month position, beginning June 1-July 31.
Salary: $65,000-$75,000
Evaluation: Athletic Trainer will be evaluated annually by the Athletic Director in accordance with the State of California laws and regulations.

Athletic Director

Garces Memorial High School is seeking an Athletic Director. The Athletic Director (AD) serves on the Garces Memorial High School Administrative team.  The AD is responsible for leading all aspects of the athletics program by providing guidance to our school community while representing the school's mission.

Reports to: Principal
Oversight: Program Heads, Head coaches, Assistant coaches , Volunteers Coaches, Parent Volunteers, Athletic booster Club
FLSA: Exempt
Salary: $65,000-$100,000:  Commensurate with experience and education.

Qualifications:
  Must hold a BA/BS degree. Master’s degree is strongly recommended.
  Outstanding interpersonal skills with a strong customer service focus (internal and external).
  Strong written and oral communication skills with an ability to effectively communicate with all stakeholders of the school.
  High-energy, self-starter with ability to successfully prioritize and multitask in an atmosphere in which time sensitive deadlines are the norm, as are interruptions.
  Available to work evenings and weekends when necessary.
  3-5 years of administrative experience recommended.
  3-5 years of athletic leadership recommended (Coaching, Athletic Director, Asst. AD).

Counselor

Garces is seeking a High School Counselor.  The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background, effective counseling skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive and engaging learning environment.  We seek to hire a Catholic educator who is faithful to the teachings of our Church and has a love for children and our faith. Reports to: AP of Student Support Services
FLSA: Exempt
Salary: $50,000-$90,000. Commensurate with experience and education.
General Summary: Provide comprehensive counseling services to students in grades 9-12, focusing on academic, college, and personal/social development. The High School Counselor will collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to support student success and well-being.

Responsibilities:
  Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address academic, college and personal/social needs of students.
  Assist students in developing educational and career goals through academic planning and career exploration.
  Provide crisis intervention and support services to students in need.
  Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop and implement strategies for student success.
  Coordinate college and career readiness programs, including college application support, financial aid resources, and career exploration activities.
  Conduct classroom  lessons on topics such as study skills, time management, conflict resolution, and college preparation.
  Maintain accurate and confidential student records in compliance with ASCA and state guidelines.

Qualifications:
  Master's degree in School Counseling or related field from an accredited institution.
  Valid Pupil Personnel Services Credential.
  Previous experience in school counseling or related fields preferred.
  Knowledge of ASCA National Model and best practices in school counseling.
  Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and school staff.
