Garces Memorial High School Cheer Leader

Code of Conduct

As a cheerleader of Garces Memorial High School, I fully understand and agree to abide by all the conditions set forth in this Code of Conduct Agreement.  My parents have read and signed this code of conduct and also agree to abide by its contents as it pertains to my involvement.

1.                  I will be on time for all practices, games, activities, events, mass and other required functions.  As a spirit leader, I understand that regular attendance is required and that tardiness and absences can be just cause for action from the Moderator and may require my removal from office.

2.                    I will always strive to do my best to represent Garces Memorial High School in a positive way and set the example by following rules (i.e. dress code, attendance policies, etc.)  I will also strive to conduct myself and encourage other students to follow the policies described in the Parent/Student Handbook.  By not following the rules, I understand that it may mean my removal from position.

3.                    I will not be involved in the use of any controlled substance including alcohol, non-prescription drugs, or tobacco products as an officer.  The use of alcohol or any other non-prescription drug will result in my being suspended from all activities related to my office.  If violated, the Director of Student Activities, the Dean of Students, and the Principal will determine the length of my suspension as an officer.  I understand the impeachment/removal from office is also a possibility for serious conduct violation.

4.                   I will do my best to remain in good academic and disciplinary standing while being a spirit leader at Garces Memorial High School.  I understand that ineligibility for one grading period will result in my suspension from the squad.

5.                   I will contribute to the squad and bring to it the gifts and talents I have as a leader.  I will respect the abilities of all others involved and cooperatively work with the Moderator, my fellow spirit leaders, students, faculty, and others with whom I associate.

• If these needs are not met, I understand that I will be removed from the cheerleading squad and will be ineligible to try out for the following year.
