GARCES MEMORIAL HIGH SCHOOL LIBRARY

WELCOME to the Garces Library website. Our mission is to help all students and staff become more information literate by providing:

  • A variety of materials that support the curriculum and mission of our school and spark the interests of students.
  • Access to those materials to as many individuals at the school site as possible.
  • Training that enables each individual to utilize these materials to their fullest capabilities.
  • An atmosphere that is conducive to study and creative thinking, and inspires students to become lifelong learners.

The Garces Library houses print materials such as books, encyclopedias, newspapers and magazines, and non-print sources like the Thomson-Gale informational database, eBooks, and the Internet. We are fully automated with Follett’s Destiny circulation-catalog software.
The Garces Library is open to students and staff from 7:00 am until 4:00 pm Monday-Thursday, and from 7:00am until one-half hour after dismissal of class/collaboration on Friday.  We are also open during breaks, lunch, and collaboration periods. Students may check out materials using their student i.d. cards, and may print from black and white or color printers in the library. There is also a copier for student use.
