Communion Breakfast –
Our annual Communion Breakfast will be held this Tuesday, Feb. 28th.  Mass will be at 7:00 a.m. in the Chapel with breakfast to follow in MLH.  Monsignor Craig Harrison will be our main speaker.  If you are planning to attend, please RSVP by tomorrow.  The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for students – please turn in checks to the front office or you can pay on-line at graces.org.

The Exchange Club Youth of the Year Award is not a “scholastic-only” award.  They are looking for an all-around student. The application deadline is Monday, February 27th.  See Mrs. Chavez for more details.

Junior students interested in attending the Pepperdine Youth Citizenship Seminar at Pepperdine University, June 18th through 22nd, must pick up an application in the Counseling Center.  Applications must be turned into your counselor by March 2nd.  Applications will be reviewed and Garces will nominate four students for the Seminar. The Pepperdine Youth Citizen Committee will then select one student from out list of nominees to attend the seminar.

Any Junior boy interested in attending California Boys State Conference from June 16th through June 23rd must pick up an application in the Counseling Center.  The deadline for the application is March 2, 2012.

The Exchange Club A.C.E. Award recognizes students who have and overcome great physical, emotional or social obstacles sometime during their high school years. The deadline for this award application is March 5th.

Kern County Law Enforcement Foundation Scholarship - This scholarship will be awarded to a student entering college and planning a career in law enforcement or the criminal justice system. Deadline is March 16th. 

Kern County Sheriff’s Benefit Association Scholarship - This scholarship will be awarded to a student entering college and planning a career in law enforcement or the criminal justice system. Deadline is March 16th. 

Contreras Scholarship - Applicants are considered with attention given to academics, recommendations and written essay. Applicant must demonstrate a high degree of motivation and the desire to achieve their goals. Qualifying GPA’s range from 2.5-3.5.  Applicants with a GPA above 3.5 will not be considered. Financial need is of great importance to the Foundation.

If you will be attending Cal State University Bakersfield in the fall, both merit-based and/or need-based scholarships are available. The deadline is March 15th.

Mardi Gras – Attention Students, Mardi Gras “Fat Tuesday” will be celebrated next Tuesday at lunch with many of our clubs and organization selling food from Taco Bell, Panda Express, Pizza, Chipotle, Jamba Juice, Ben & Jerry’s, along with lots of goodies like cookies, cupcakes and brownies.  Bring your money and your appetite for Mardi Gras on Tuesday.  The cafeteria will be closed for lunch on Tuesday.   Help support our clubs!!

Applicant must demonstrate a high degree of motivation and the desire to achieve their goals. Qualifying GPA’s range from 2.5-3.5.  Applicants with a GPA above 3.5 will not be considered. Financial need is of great importance to the Foundation.

Applications for the 2012 Lincoln Day Essay Contest are now available. Applications and essays must be received by Wed., February 15th.   See Ms. Chavez in the Counseling Center for an application or more info.

Pick up your application for the San Joaquin Hospital Spring Volunteer Program and the Bakersfield East Rotary Foundation Scholarship in the Counseling Center.

The Exchange Club Youth of the Year Award
is not a “scholastic-only” award.  They are looking for an all-around student. The application deadline is Monday, February 27th.  See Mrs. Chavez for more details.

The Exchange Club A.C.E. Award recognizes students who have and overcome great physical, emotional or social obstacles sometime during their high school years. The deadline for this award application is March 5th.

If you will be attending Cal State University Bakersfield in the fall, both merit-based and/or need-based scholarships are available. The deadline is March 15th.

The 12th Annual Engineer’s Day @ CSUB on February 24th Interested students need to sign up in the Counseling Center by Wednesday, Feb. 15th.
