Computer Applications Challenge Exam Guideline and Expectations

The challenge exam will consist of an objective question’s section, as well as a practical application exercise for Word 2007, Excel 2007 and Power Point 2007. The Operating System is Microsoft Windows XP. Time allotted for the exam is one (1) hour.

Much of the objective section consists of identifying the basic screen elements (Menus and Icons) of Word 2007, Excel 2007 and Power Point 2007 and an understanding their purpose as well.

Word 2007 Application Section will consist of the following:
·        Changing font type and size.
·        Applying themes.
·        Setting margins.
·        Applying heading styles.
·        Applying numbers and bullets.
·        Applying line and paragraph spacing.
·        Aligning text.
·        Applying indents.
·        Inserting page and section breaks as well as headers.

Excel 2007 Application Section will consist of the following:
·        Inputting of data.
·        Selecting contiguous and non-contiguous ranges.
·        Changing Font size and type.
·        Applying themes.
·        Use of fill handle to create a series.
·        Create formulas and use of Auto Sum function.
·        Apply number formatting.
·        Interpret available data, create and format a chart.

Power Point 2007 Application Section will consist of the following:
·        Inserting Slides.
·        Inserting and formatting Text.
·        Insert, Size and position Clip Art.
·        Applying Themes and Backgrounds.
·        Applying Headers and Footers.
·        Creating a Hand-out page.
